Sharon Bezaly speelde inmiddels een groot aantal cd’s bij elkaar voor BIS. De jonge fluitiste werd in 2002 door het Duitse Klassik Echo gekozen tot Instrumentaliste van het Jaar. Niet minder dan vijf concerten werden inmiddels speciaal voor haar geschreven, en er staan er op dit moment nog zes op stapel. Een drietal ervan bracht BIS recentelijk uit, te weten die van de noordelijke componisten Kalevi Aho (Finland), Haukur Tómasson (IJsland) en Christian Lindberg (Zweden). Sharon Bezaly heeft een rijk palet aan verschillende klankkleuren tot haar beschikking. Ze laat haar fluiten (van piccolo tot basfluit) eloquent zingen, om het even of ze zich uitput in snelle figuraties, zoals in het bij tijd en wijle jazzy concert van Lindberg, of dat ze een heel verstilde atmosfeer moet oproepen zoals in Aho’s Fluitconcert. Overigens leverde Kalevi Aho ook de cadensen bij de Mozart-concerten die eveneens verschenen. Op deze opnamen, waarbij Mozart slank en pittig begeleid wordt door het Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra, excelleert Bezaly, hoewel haar felle uithalen, met name in de cadensen, misschien niet ieders ‘cup of tea’ zijn. Maar hoe het ook zij: Bezaly is een fluitiste om in de gaten te houden!
