Eastwood Symphonic is een eerbetoon van de zoon aan de vader. Clint Eastwood (1930), die behalve filmster ook filmproducent, filmregisseur en politicus is, heeft een grote passie voor muziek. Hij begon als basgitarist en speelt nog altijd piano, vooral jazz en country & western. Ook schreef hij voor zijn eigen films enkele songs, waarin hij soms zelf als zanger optreedt. Geen wonder dus, dat op de cover van het boek over Eastwood Symphonic te lezen staat: ‘In the Eastwood Family music is a Family Affair’. Om hulde aan zijn vader te brengen, voert zoon Kyle samen met zijn jazzformatie swingende dialogen met het levendig musicerende Czech National Symphonic Orchestra. De fusie leidt tot wederzijdse inspiratie, opwinding en plezier. Het album is opgebouwd uit soundtracks voor de films waarin Eastwood de hoofdrol speelde. Kyle zelf is contrabassist en basgitarist van zijn kwintet, waarin Quentin Collins trompet speelt, Brandon Allen saxofoon, Andrew McCormack piano en Chris Higginbottom drums. De tomeloze energie van Kyles kwintet straalt af op het orkest onder leiding van Gast Walzting. Eastwood Symphonic is een album om veel plezier aan te beleven, vooral voor liefhebbers van jazz, filmmuziek én natuurlijk Clint Eastwood!
